Capstone Copper

Operations

Capstone Copper has a portfolio of long-life copper operations in the Americas and a fully permitted development project in one of the world’s most prolific copper-producing districts. We are well positioned to create near-term growth as we make our operating mines more profitable, and execute on our strategy of transformational growth as we build the next generation of responsible copper mines.

Operations

Through a commitment to innovation, excellence and operating at the highest standards, we are focused on generating strong cash flows in all price environments at our multi-asset portfolio of mines and projects.

Pinto Valley

Arizona, United States

100%-owned, operating open-pit copper-molybdenum mine located in the prolific Globe-Miami mining district of Arizona, one of the oldest and most productive mining districts in the USA. District consolidation opportunities exist.

Cozamin

Zacatecas, Mexico

100%-owned, operating underground copper-silver-zinc-lead mine. Since the first full year of operation in 2007, Cozamin has generated positive free cash flow at all points of the copper price cycle. Exploration program underway.

Mantos Blancos

Antofagasta, Chile

100%-owned, operating open-pit, high-grade copper-silver mine. The operation currently mines and processes sulphide and oxide ores.

Capstone is currently evaluating the potential to increase throughput of the Mantos Blancos sulphide concentrator plant. Significant near mine and district exploration potential.

Mantoverde

Atacama, Chile

70% ownership (30% Mitsubishi Minerals). Operating open-pit, oxide heap leach copper mine with 32,000 tpd high-grade sulphide processing line expansion (Mantoverde Development Project – “MVDP”) ramping up in 2024.

Near-mine exploration potential and district-consolidation opportunities within IOCG belt (Cu-Fe-Au-Co).

Mantoverde-Santo Domingo (“MV-SD”) District Integration Plan presented in November 2022. Targeting over 200,000 tonnes per year of low-cost copper production, with potential to become one of the largest and lowest-cost battery-grade cobalt producers in the world. Feasibility study expected in 2024.

Santo Domingo

Atacama, Chile

Top-quartile, fully permitted copper-iron-gold project with cobalt opportunity.

Mantoverde-Santo Domingo (“MV-SD”) District Integration Plan presented in November 2022. Targeting over 200,000 tonnes per year of low-cost copper production, with potential to become one of the largest and lowest cost battery-grade cobalt producers in the world. Feasibility study expected in 2024.

MVDP

The Mantoverde Development Project (“MVDP”) represents a transformational expansion of our Mantoverde mine in Chile to process sulphide ore via a copper concentrator, in addition to the mine’s current oxide ore processing capabilities. The $870 million project is in the commissioning and ramp-up stage, with nameplate production levels expected to be achieved in Q3/2024, and is expected to drive significantly higher consolidated production at lower unit costs for Capstone Copper.

Responsibility

We care deeply for our people, the environment, and the communities in which we operate. Our commitment to ethical and responsible mining is deeply rooted in our business philosophy, central to our values and vital to our success.
